Solar Kit Maintenance

Installation Requirements


Solar Kit Placement:


1. Avoid installing the solar kit in shaded areas such as under trees or near buildings. The solar panel needs to be fully exposed to sunlight to perform optimally. Keep it away from open flames or flammable materials.

2. The ideal installation angle is around 30 degrees towards the sun, but the user can adjust the angle based on the environment and the bracket structure for the best charging position.

Environmental Conditions:


1. The solar kit works best in temperatures between -40°C to 85°C, with an optimal operating temperature of around 25°C.

2. Performance can be affected by temperature. In hot environments, the panel’s efficiency may decrease. It’s important to install the kit in a well-ventilated area.

Electrical Connection:


1. Ensure the solar kit is properly connected to the docking station. Do not short-circuit the positive and negative terminals. Make sure connections are secure, with no gaps between connectors and insulation. Gaps could cause sparks or electrical shocks.
 

 

Maintenance Requirements


Regular Checks:


· The solar kit should be checked and maintained regularly. Inspect the panel’s surface for any damage, check the wiring for looseness, and ensure the brackets are stable. Address any issues promptly to ensure the system operates correctly.

Cleaning and Maintenance:


1. Dust and dirt can accumulate on the solar panel’s surface, reducing its efficiency. It’s important to clean the panel regularly—at least once a month.

2. When cleaning, avoid using sharp tools that might scratch the surface. A soft cloth should be used to wipe the panel and remove debris, keeping the panel in good working condition.

3. Do not use strong acids or alkalis for cleaning, as these chemicals can damage the surface materials and affect the panel’s weather resistance.

Battery Maintenance:


· Avoid letting the battery remain in a low-charge state for extended periods, as this can affect its lifespan.
 

 

Troubleshooting & Condition Checks


Charging Efficiency Decreases:


1. Check if the sunlight is sufficient. During winter or cloudy weather, charging power will be lower.

2. Make sure there is no dirt or shading blocking the panel.

3. Inspect the panel for scratches, cuts, or any other damage.

4. Look for any physical impact that may have reduced the active area of the panel.

5. Ensure the solar panel is facing directly towards the sun.

6. If dust or hotspots are causing issues, clean the panel or replace any faulty components.

7. Check if connectors are loose or showing any signs of damage.

8. Inspect the cables for wear or damage.

Emergency Procedures


1. Fire: Use a dry powder fire extinguisher (Class C), never water.

2. Cracks or Breaks: If there’s damage to the surface, temporarily seal it with tape and replace the solar panel within 48 hours.

3. Overheating: High temperatures can cause hotspot effects. Increase ventilation or activate the water-cooling system. Pause operation until the system cools down.
